There is only one day left to be crowned Sarpanch and Panch in Hisar district. Polling parties are being sent to conduct elections at the village level. 1901 candidates are in the fray for the post of Sarpanch in 307 Panchayats present in the district. Similarly, 5173 candidates are in the fray for the post of Panch. In this election for the post of Sarpanch will be held through EVM, while for the post of Panch, votes will be cast through ballot paper. The results of these posts will be released on Friday evening itself.

The ongoing campaign for the elections to be held on 25th for the post of Sarpanch and Panch in the district was closed on Wednesday evening. On Thursday, polling parties from other places in the district including Mahabir Stadium are being sent by giving EVMs. Before leaving, their rehearsal was also done. Sarpanch and Panch of some of the 307 panchayats present in the district were elected unopposed. Now elections are to be held for the remaining panchayats.

All the polling parties will reach the booths in the villages of the district by Thursday evening and set up the booths properly. Mock poll will be conducted at the booth before the start of election on Friday morning. After that the election will start at seven o’clock. Counting of votes will be done at the booth itself immediately after the polling till evening. Due to the important dignity of Sarpanch and Panch posts in the village, this election is also important for the people of the village.
