Chandigarh, September 19: As part of the three-day International Gita Festival, a seminar and cultural program on Gita was organized at the Living Art Center in Mississauga, Canada. The Living Art Center Hamerson Hall is the prestigious auditorium dedicated to the arts and culture by the city of Mississauga. On this occasion, the Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown, along with Swami Gyanananda, announced the installation of a replica of Krishna-Arjuna’s chariot at the newly approved Gita Park in Brampton.

Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombe, MPP Mississauga Deepak Anand, MPP Brampton Graham Mac Gregor, MPP Nina Tangri, Ontario’s Associate Minister for Women’s Social and Economic Opportunity Charmaine Willams, Scarborough MP Sean Chen, Haryana Chairman of Bureau of Public Enterprises Subhash Barala and Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, Consul General of India in Toronto Apoorva Srivastava, KDB Secretary Madan Mohan Chhabra, KBD CEO Chandrakant Kataria, KDB member Upendra Singhal, academician Markandey Ahuja along with Many dignitaries also attended.

A video message of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Swami Gurusharanand was also played in this program. In his message, the Chief Minister said that since 2016 under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are celebrating Gita Mahotsav internationally. International Gita Mahotsav is a unique example of religious, cultural, art and culture. He said that organizing International Gita Mahotsav on Canadian soil is a matter of pride for the people of Haryana. Words cannot describe the faith and enthusiasm of the people of Canada in the Gita.

Gita is such a supernatural beam of light, which is beyond time, country and boundaries. Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that Lord Krishna gave the message of Karmayoga through Gita 5,159 years ago on the soil of Haryana itself. This knowledge may have been given by Lord Shri Krishna on the land of Bharat, but it is for the whole world. On this occasion, Swami Gyananand said that the relevance of Bhagavad Gita has increased even more in the present times. Every person should imbibe Gita in his life.

He said that the message of Gita is relevant for all times and it has been inspiring human beings for thousands of years. He said that we have to take the message of Gita to every corner of the world. For this purpose these programs are being organized. Haryana Cabinet Minister Kamal Gupta said that through this event, efforts are being made to spread the essence of Gita in the whole world. He said that in the Gita, Lord Shri Krishna had told every person to do his work. A person of every field should have a sense of service in his area.

He said that Bhagavad Gita is a holy book to posit all the negative thoughts of the world. After adopting this scripture, a person moves towards self-confidence, reverence and brotherhood. During this, while addressing the program, Jagadguru Ramanujacharya ji, Gita Manishi Gyananand ji, Ramdhari Singh Guru ji, Arya Samaj Guru Sampoornanand ji, Canadian ministers and MPs gave their views on the role of Gita. Everyone stressed on promoting global peace, harmony, brotherhood and unity. Organizers of International Gita Mahotsav in London shared their experience at the event. In the evening all delegates went to Troyer Park, which has recently been renamed Geeta Park by the City Council of Brampton.

In the program, an exhibition on Gita was organized by Kurukshetra Development Board. It showcased the 48 Kos Kurukshetra, the identity of Kurukshetra and the views held on the Gita by scholars from all over the world. Book and souvenir stalls were run by Jio Geeta and ISKCON.
