Chandigarh, June 10. Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that the work of forwarding the files of government offices through e-office is going on. To bring more transparency in this, the new version of e-office will be started by 7th October so that there is no delay in the work of any person. Sanjeev Kaushal was presiding over the review meeting regarding the implementation of e-office process.

He said that the new version-7 of e-office will be able to open in tablet and iPad also and in this many documents can be opened simultaneously at the same time. Apart from this, voice writing facility and paragraph referencing feature will also be available in it. There will also be facility to work in both Hindi and English languages. He said that this would increase the working capacity of the officers and employees working in government offices.

He said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, by implementing e-office in government offices, they have to be made paperless. So far it has been implemented in 146 departments, boards and corporations of the state. These include 123 departments and 22 public sector bureaus. He said that there are more than 32 thousand users of e-office in the state for which 6 to 8 terabytes of data storage has been increased.

The Chief Secretary said that 75 percent work is being done by the Finance Department and 61 percent by the Chief Secretary’s office through e-office. He said that till now version-5.6 of e-office is applicable in the state. It will be upgraded to new version-7 and implemented in all departments by the month of October. The Chief Secretary directed that training video clips should also be prepared for the smooth implementation of e-office so that all officers and employees can use them from time to time. The Chief Secretary also took suggestions from senior officers in this regard and directed them to include them in the e-office software.
