High level meeting amid rapidly increasing cases of corona in Maharashtra, cases increased by 50 percent in 5 days

Mumbai, 07 June. The increasing cases of corona in Maharashtra have increased the concern of the state government. The Maharashtra government held a high-level meeting on Monday regarding the increasing cases of corona, during which the measures to prevent corona were reviewed. During this it was also discussed whether any new restrictions are needed to prevent infection or whether mandatory masks are enough as the number of corona patients admitted to the hospital has not increased so far.
Let us inform that on Monday, 1036 new cases of corona were reported in Maharashtra. With this, the number of infection cases in the state has crossed 1000. Talking about the average cases of seven days, this is the highest ever since February 26. Officials say the cases have increased due to the Omicron variant. Omicron’s new variants BA.4 and BA.5 have also played a role in increasing the infection, which spread very rapidly. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that however, there has been no increase in the number of patients admitted to the hospital.
