Amit Shah said, never worry about India-China border because ITBP protects them and no one can snatch even an inch of India’s land. On Saturday, Shah said, he is never worried about the India-China border. They know that ITBP personnel are guarding the India-China borders and because of this no one can occupy even an inch of India’s land.

Shah was in Karnataka’s Devanahalli area to inaugurate newly constructed buildings of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and lay the foundation stone of a Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D). The Home Minister in his address lauded the Himveers of ITBP for their dedicated service to the nation.

He said that the government is taking all possible steps to improve the service conditions of the jawans. According to Amit Shah, ITBP works in very difficult conditions. Let us inform that ITBP country knows the jawans by the name of ‘Himveer’ due to deployment in snowy areas. The Home Minister said, “ITBP is doing an excellent service to the nation by securing the toughest borders on the Himalayas under inhospitable conditions.” According to Shah, “People have given the title of ‘Himveer’ to ITBP jawans which is bigger than Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan.”

Shah said, “Nobody can occupy an inch of India’s land because he knows that Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel are guarding the border.”

Significantly, Home Minister Shah’s remarks came a few days after the skirmish on the Line of Actual Control between the Indian and Chinese forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector on December 9. There has been a border standoff between the two sides in the Galvan Valley of eastern Ladakh for over 30 months. Things are tense but settled. Shah’s remarks, which came days after the recent skirmish along the LAC in the sensitive area of Arunachal Pradesh, are indicative of the government’s stand.

The Indian Army said in a statement earlier this month that, on December 9, People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops approached the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian soldiers fought valiantly. Soldiers from both sides have suffered minor injuries in the face-off.

The Indian Army said, both sides disengaged from the area immediately after the face-off. After the incident, the Indian commander also held a flag meeting with his counterpart to restore calm and discuss the issue.
