Rohit acquitted after 9 years
On Monday, the District and Sessions Court acquitted Rohit in this case. Importantly, Rohit who is now 36 years old, has been acquitted by the court saying that he is acquitted of all charges in the death of Amrita Pathak. The court said that this death was an accident. Judge Avnish Saxena acquitted Rohit citing Amrita’s statement. Amrita had given a statement in front of the doctor before death, in her statement she talked about fire, on the basis of which the court said that there is no concrete evidence of abetment to suicide, hence Rohit is acquitted.

The court accepted the accident
The court said in its judgment that the evidence shows that the death was due to accident, the victim did not commit suicide. So Rohit is acquitted in this case, he is acquitted of the charge of abetment to suicide. Rohit is out on bail now and there is no need to surrender. Please tell that Rohit and Amrita lived together for 5 years after marriage, they also had a child. The child was 5 years old when Amrita died. Amrita died at her house in Mamura village, Sector 66, Noida.

Husband himself had taken her to the hospital
On October 1, 2013, Rohit’s lawyer said in the court that when the incident happened, Rohit was in his office in Noida, when the house caught fire. He immediately reached home and took Amrita to Jagdamba Hospital. From here Amrita was transferred to Safdarganj Hospital. Amrita died at Safdarganj Hospital due to 85 per cent burns. The cause of death was said to be burns due to fire.

Alleged incitement for 3 lakhs
Three days after the incident, Amrita’s brothers Manoj and Jai Prakash Dubey filed a case against Rohit for abetment to suicide for dowry at Noida’s Sector 58 police station. They alleged that our sister was forcibly instigated to commit suicide for Rs 3 lakh cash, jewellery. Police registered a case against Rohit under section 306 of IPC.

Brothers accused of demanding 14 lakhs
When the matter reached the court, Rohit declared himself innocent. He said that Amrita’s brother has demanded Rs 14 lakh from me so that the case can be cleared. During the trial, several witnesses gave detailed accounts of what happened that day. The statement of Dr. Shalu who had treated Amrita was very important. The doctor told the court that Amrita had told him that she had got burnt due to a fire, that the accident happened while cooking, perhaps the gas was leaking, due to which the house caught fire.

what did the eyewitness say
Ramnath Prasad, the caretaker of the house where Rohit and Amrita lived, told the court that he was the first to reach immediately after the fire broke out. He said that I heard Amrita was saying to call her husband. I told Rohit, after which he took me to the hospital at 11 am. The court, in its order, said that the death was due to an accident caused by a gas leak, which was wrongly tried to give the form of suicide. After the court’s decision, Rohit said that I had faith in the judiciary, I knew that if not today then tomorrow I will get justice. Finally got justice. On the other hand, the defense lawyer of the other side said that the allegation of demanding money is baseless, but he admitted that our case was lightened by the doctor’s statement.
