Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Kamla Devi commissioned

ICGS Kamla Devi:
Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) ICGS Kamala Devi was commissioned in West Bengal’s capital Kolkata on Thursday. Indian Coast Guard DG VS Pathania attended as the chief guest during the function organized at GRSE (Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers).

Indian Coast Guard DG VS Pathania said that Kamla Devi is a fast patrol vessel. We have 50 of them with the Coast Guard. The speed, surveillance equipment and ammunition she has, I think she’s one of the best stealth platforms we have for the Coast Guard.

The ICG DG said that the best thing today is that most of our things are indigenously made. This is the strength of our country. Once a ship is built in India, we also have repair facilities which support the operational availability of the ships. Challenges are increasing at sea so we are ready.

24-hour border security was engaged in the country’s security. According to the information received, a Pakistani boat with 10 crew had entered the Indian maritime boundary, all were arrested. The boat was intercepted in the Arabian Sea, the crew brought to Porbandar for further questioning.

Indian Coast Guard official said that a Pakistani boat with 10 crew members was intercepted by Indian Coast Guard Ship ICGS ‘Ankit’ during night patrolling in Indian territorial waters in the Arabian Sea on Saturday. The Pakistani ship was identified as ‘Yasin’. ICGS Ankit was operating in the night when he intercepted the boat. The Pakistani boat was 6-7 miles inside Indian waters and tried to escape on sighting the ICG ship.
