Bench rejected the petition against Imran Khan
Local newspaper Dawn gave this information on Friday. According to Dawn, former presidents Asif Ali Zardari and Fawad Chaudhry claimed in the court that since Imran Khan had given birth to an illegitimate daughter, she should be disqualified from contesting further elections. The Division Bench of the Islamabad High Court, while rejecting this petition, gave a detailed judgment.
The court said – this is Imran’s personal issue
In its observations on the petition against Imran Khan, the bench said that the former PM hid most about his daughter, it is Imran Khan’s personal issue. The Bench sternly observed that such cases are a waste of litigation time and undermine the public’s confidence in their elected representatives. According to the Dawn report, outgoing Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miyangul Hasan Aurangzeb were included in the bench.
The rights of the child may be harmed
The Bench observed that the rights of a child named in the petition filed are also included. If this court investigates then his rights may suffer. There are sufficient grounds of probable consequence relating to the rights of the child for refusing to exercise the extraordinary jurisdiction vested in this Court under Article 199 of the Constitution. “We feel that it is not in the public interest to entertain the petition, let alone order an inquiry into the personal life of the respondent (Imran Khan),” the bench said.
Imran Khan’s party started the long march
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s party PTI has once again started the long march. Former Prime Minister and PTI chief Imran Khan is currently not fully recovered after being shot in the leg, but his attitude against the government is coming out in an aggressive manner. Before resuming the march, he tweeted, asking supporters to remove all obstacles in the way and tell the government that we are not one to bow down or fear their attacks.
