The total percentage of electric vehicles in October has been 10.8. Total registered vehicles in October include 3600 two wheelers, 2700 three wheelers, 823 e-autos, 180 e-cycles and 70 luggage e-cycles. Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that Delhi is moving towards becoming the capital of electric vehicles. A record 8 thousand 123 vehicles have been registered in October. The trend of people towards electric vehicles is increasing in Delhi. At the same time, to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles, the government plans to provide e-two-wheelers to its employees on monthly installments.

Earlier, the government has announced a scheme to promote e-cycles. An official said that the government is looking at partnering with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), which comes under the Union Power Ministry, to provide electric two-wheelers to its employees. He said that two-wheelers (scooters and motorcycles) constitute two-thirds of the new vehicles registered in Delhi. In view of this, it is important that this portion be converted into e-vehicles to reduce air pollution in the capital.

Officials said that as per the estimates, more than two lakh employees work under the government. Electric two wheeler scheme for government employees will encourage the general public to adopt such vehicles. They will have the option to pay in full or choose EMI.

The company has already tied up with Kerala, Goa and Andhra Pradesh. The Delhi government aims to make e-vehicles 25% of the new vehicles to be registered by 2024. To promote electric vehicles, 100 public electric vehicle charging stations will soon be functional in the capital.
