New Delhi, 04 June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the reforms of the government on the occasion of the completion of eight years of the BJP’s central government. The PM said that despite the global pandemic, India is moving ahead strongly. The efforts of the Government of India are being appreciated not only in the country but also abroad. He also talked about India’s trade agreements with countries like Australia and UAE.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke of India’s efforts to help countries facing a shortage of vaccines and medicines during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The PM said that during the Corona epidemic, India took the initiative to export medicines to 100 countries and send more than 200 million jabs to needy countries.

‘India emerging stronger from global crisis’
Despite the pandemic crisis, India’s exports hit record highs, while foreign investment in India reached record highs. Giving credit to the vision of a self-reliant India, it explained how it has taken India forward. He said that now clearly the world wants to do business with India. This has become clear from India’s record in the midst of an epidemic like Kovid.

India’s economic agreement between Australia and UAE
India signed an economic cooperation and trade agreement with Australia. Under this agreement, bilateral trade in goods and services is expected to increase from $27 billion to $45 billion in five years. As per the agreement, Australia is offering zero duty access to India for about 96.4 per cent of exports from day one. India will benefit from the preferential market access provided by Australia on 100% of its tariff lines. In addition, India has also signed a trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates. Accordingly, India will benefit from the preferential market access provided by the UAE on more than 97 per cent of its tariff lines.

India as a global power

The PM wrote in his tweet, ‘From creating defense corridors to corporatizing ordnance factories to increasing FDI in the defense sector, many steps have helped in the pace of development.’ PM Modi wrote that there have been many efforts like focusing on indigenization, building a defense corridor, promoting defense exports. The PM said that 130 crore Indians have decided that they will make India self-reliant. Our thrust for self-reliance is driven by a vision to contribute to global prosperity.
