Iranian Foreign Minister met PM Modi, the first visit of a minister of a Muslim country to India amid the Prophet’s controversy

New Delhi, June 08: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan in New Delhi on Wednesday. After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that the relations between India and Iran have benefited both the countries. The Iranian minister has come to India on a three-day visit.
After meeting Iran’s foreign minister, PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “Delighted to welcome Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan to a fruitful discussion on the further development of the centuries-old civilizational ties between India and Iran. Our relations have helped both countries.” mutually beneficial and promoted regional security and prosperity.”

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had met his Iranian counterpart Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan. During this, the two discussed Afghanistan, Ukraine and other regional and global issues. Along with this, he reviewed bilateral relations including business, health, people-to-people contacts.

External Affairs Minister is on a three-day visit
After the meeting, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar tweeted with a picture of the meeting, “Welcome to Iran’s Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahiyan in New Delhi. Our close and friendly relations will be reflected in our discussions today. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abdullahiyan is on a three-day visit to India with an aim to further strengthen bilateral ties. His visit to India comes at a time when Islamic countries are expressing displeasure over the controversial remarks made by two former office-bearers of the ruling party BJP on Prophet Mohammad.
