The Haryana government has appointed Gurugram resident Jawahar Yadav as the new OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Jawahar is the first such person, who is getting entry in CMO for the second time. He has also been OSD to CM in Khattar Part-1. On Tuesday, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal issued the appointment orders of Jawahar Yadav.
It is believed that he has been crowned in place of Neeraj Daftuar, who was the Principal OSD to the CM. Neeraj had said goodbye to the CMO in October last year. After his departure, the post of OSD was vacant. Jawahar Yadav is counted close to the CM. Although in the first term, Jawahar Yadav had to be removed from the CMO due to opposition from many ministers and MLAs of the state.
The way the Chief Minister has been making appointments for the last few days, it is clear that the Delhi Durbar has given him a ‘free-hand’. Now apart from the CMO (Chief Minister’s Office), the political appointments being made in boards-corporations and other places are being done in view of the upcoming assembly elections. Jawahar Yadav himself is very active in Badshahpur constituency. He is also keen to contest the assembly elections from here in 2024.

On such an occasion, his entry in the CMO can give him a big political advantage. When Jawahar Yadav stepped down from the CMO in the first term, the Chief Minister had appointed him as the chairman of the Housing Board. After the completion of the tenure of the Housing Board Chairman, he remained active in the BJP organization for a long time. The party had entrusted him with the responsibility of spokesperson. It is believed that Yadav has been appointed to speed up the pending works in the CMO.
