Ranchi, December 9: Under the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme, every farmer of the state, who is financially completely dependent on agriculture, will get relief. There is no compulsion of city or village in this. Only the concerned circle or block needs to be in the list of drought prone areas of the state government. The farmers who apply will get the benefit of the scheme if found correct in the investigation. Except Jharia zone in Dhanbad district, farmers of all the remaining 10 zones can apply under the scheme. Every farmer will get Rs.3500.
Dhanbad’s Additional Collector Nandkishore Gupta says, ‘Under the Drought Relief Scheme, applications are being taken in all the other zones except Jharia. There is no restriction of urban or rural area. The farmer who is completely dependent on farming can apply online for this. Let us inform that due to insufficient rains in Jharkhand this year, the planting of money could be very less. Dhanbad district was in a very bad condition, while paddy is the main crop for the farmers here. In most of the places farmers cultivate paddy only. The state government has announced financial relief to the farmers this year under the Drought Relief Scheme, but the matter was stuck in some areas. In many places farmers were being avoided by saying that it is Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Parishad or Nagar Nigam area. The scheme is only for the village, whereas it is clear in the resolution issued by the government that any farmer can apply for the scheme.
Farmers are divided into three categories
In a letter sent to all the Deputy Commissioners, State Agriculture Director Nisha Oraon has asked them to prepare the list as per the SOP under the Chief Minister Drought Relief Scheme. In this, the farmers are divided into three categories. Such farmers, who are affected by drought and have been doing farming before, but could not sow this year due to lack of rain. Drought-affected farmers, who are completely dependent on agriculture, who have suffered more than 33 percent crop loss this year, and third landless agricultural laborers whose livelihood is agriculture, will also have to apply. The preliminary scrutiny of all the applications will be done by the concerned Halka staff. Then goes to the login of CI and then CO. The SDM will approve the applications recommended by the CO. Only applications approved by SDM will get the benefit of the scheme.
