Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan and Additional Advocate General Jayaprakash told the bench that a three-member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of a member of the Board of Revenue to improve the Court Fee Amendment Act. In this, Principal Secretary of Finance Department and Principal Secretary of Law Department have been made members. The committee will submit its report soon.

On this, advocate Rajendra Krishna, appearing for the petitioner, said that the report of the committee should be presented before the court soon. If the will of the government does not remain positive regarding the reform of court fees, then the matter should be heard for final hearing. It is noteworthy that the petitioner Jharkhand State Bar Council has filed a public interest litigation. The Court Fees Revised Act-2021 has been challenged. It has been said in the petition that there has been a huge increase in the court fee. Due to this, people from the poor section of the society will not be able to come to the court. It will not be possible to provide easy and accessible justice to the people. In Jharkhand, the state government does not have the right to increase the fees on Vakalatnama.
