Jharkhand News: The state government is taking a new initiative to stop the sale and purchase of government land. The Department of Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms of Jharkhand Government has written a letter to all District Under Registrars including East Singhbhum. It has been said that the land of government, forest and special palace and the land acquired for various departments should be included in the restricted list. All the District Under-Registrar have been instructed to contact the Forest Officer and Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Registrar after completing the process in the next 15 days and send it to the department. Registrar Inspector General Chandrashekhar has issued the letter.

Khas Mahal land is encroached upon

In East Singhbhum district, there is large-scale illegal encroachment on land ranging from government and forest land to Khas Mahal. The process of renewal of lease of the land of Khas Mahal has been started by the district administration. In this, most of the people currently occupying the land have not even applied for renewal. It is being told that even the necessary documents are not available with the concerned people.

Seven letters issued in three years

The process of action has been started in the light of the instructions given by the Chief Secretary regarding the protection of government land. Seven different letters have been issued from the year 2020 to the year 2022. Earlier, instructions have been given to the Deputy Commissioner cum District Registrar and Divisional Officers of all the districts in this regard. Sending a copy of the concerned letter, it has been asked to ensure prompt action. The report will be sent to the department on these points

What is the land of Khas Mahal

In the first survey conducted in 1911, such a land was marked which belonged completely to the government. Means the private land of the government. It was named Khas Mahal. No ryot or landlord had any right on this. At the time of the Bihar government, the concerned government used to give land on lease to the people for a specific purpose. This process started years ago. In this, the land for the purpose for which the government had given it on lease to the people, even after the expiry of the lease period, that land was not returned to the government at many places. Because of this, people have either sold this land to other people or have leased it to other people on their behalf. Now, like Bihar, the Jharkhand government is trying to correct the records of these lands. Whether the people who have been given land on lease are still in possession or not. It has also been investigated at the district level.
