J&K Doda: Tension after provocative speech in mosque, Union Minister made this appeal to both communities

Jammu, June 10: A precautionary curfew has been imposed in Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district following communal tension. Internet services have also been suspended. Army has been called to conduct flag march. Tension prevailed in Bhaderwah after an alleged provocative speech at a mosque on Thursday evening. Police have registered a case regarding this. The district administration said that we have imposed curfew so that the atmosphere does not deteriorate and mobile internet services have also been stopped in Kishtwar district as a precaution.

The Union Minister made this appeal to the heads of both the communities
Union Minister and BJP MP from Udhampur Dr Jitendra Singh tweeted, “I am deeply hurt by the unpleasant situation that arose in Bhaderwah yesterday. I humbly appeal to the elders and heads of both the communities to sit together to maintain the traditional harmony. Bhaderwah has always been a beautiful city and keep it that way.
In another tweet, Dr Jitendra Singh said, “Meanwhile, I am in constant touch with Doda DC Vikas Sharma and Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar. DC Doda and SSP Doda are presently camping at Bhaderwah and personally monitoring the situation.

‘Demand to behead Nupur Sharma…’
The development comes after a local Muslim cleric allegedly made hate speeches and demanded that former BJP leader Nupur Sharma be beheaded. In another incident, a Hindu youth had shared an objectionable post about the Prophet on social media. According to the police, the situation is normal at present. Police said an FIR has been registered in both the cases. Police have warned that law and order violators will not be spared.
