Mahant raised question on the treasury of Madurai Adhinam Math, asked people not to watch actor Vijay’s film

Chennai, 07 June. Mahant Sri Harihara Sri Jnanasambanda Desika Swamigal of the Math has raised questions regarding the property of Madurai Adhinam Math. He said the treasury officials were not aware of what was going on inside the temple. The temple should be run under the supervision of a retired judge or village elder. Temple property is getting lost here. The culture of Tamil Nadu is contained within the temple. Mahant Shri Harihar raised the question and said that after all what is the need of leaders inside the temple, there are leaders of the ruling party or the opposition in important positions in the temple, what is the need of it. Along with this, Mahant Harihar has appealed to the people not to watch film actor Vijay’s film. He has acted in a film in which the sentiments of Hindu religion have been insulted. Let us inform that last month the Tamil Nadu government had banned the Pattina Pravesham Shobha Yatra, after which there is a tussle between the Mahant of the Math Sri Harihar and the state government. It is worth noting that in this procession, the Mahant of Maduraimath is taken out on a palanquin, but the state government had banned it at the end of last month.

Talking about the Madurai Math temple, this temple is about 500 years old. Mahant said that Dharmapuram Adhinam is five hundred years old and procession is being taken out here since last 500 years. This program has been going on for centuries. Even under British rule and after independence all Chief Ministers had given permission for this procession. Former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had also given permission for the procession, but the way this government has stopped the procession, it is unfair.
