BHUBANESWAR, 12 September: The CBI and ED’s actions against political opponents of the BJP in several states have sparked a strong reaction, a statement by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jalshakti Bisweshwar Tudu said, adding that central agencies will conduct raids wherever there is corruption. Due to which speculation has intensified here.
Tudu’s statement, who came during the visit of seven Union ministers on Saturday to review the implementation of welfare schemes launched by the Centre, has played a significant role in view of the recent cases in West Bengal and Maharashtra.

“Wherever there is corruption, they (agencies) will conduct raids. The central agencies will perform their duty irrespective of the political affiliation of the accused. They can be from BJP, BJD or Congress,” he said while addressing party workers at a meeting at Kaptipada in Mayurbhanj district on Saturday.
The ruling BJD reacted quickly to Tudu’s statement. The CBI investigation into the multi-crore chit fund scam is still going on. Some BJD leaders were also arrested in this connection. In August, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had raided some properties in the state in connection with a money laundering case against a mining company registered in Delhi.
“It is a danger. Such a statement by a Union minister is quite unnecessary. It is not acceptable,” said former finance minister Shashi Bhushan Behera. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai’s statement that the benefits of central government schemes are not reaching the people due to unforgivable behavior by the state government has also not gone down well with the ruling party. “This kind of inspector raj of Union ministers is not acceptable,” Behera said. He said that he should not get involved in politics.
The Congress has also strongly criticized Tudu’s statement.

“BJP always indulges in such practices to intimidate opposition political parties. Congress is well aware of this strategy as leaders of party ruled states always face the heat,” Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Sharat Patnaik said. However, he said that there will be no raids in Odisha where there is a tacit understanding of BJD and BJP.
