What are the allegations against Kiran Patle
According to the report, Kiran Bhai Patel told everyone in Jammu and Kashmir that he was working as an Additional Director (Strategy and Operations) in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Apart from taking VVIP facility in Jammu and Kashmir, he had also taken z+ security for himself there. Jammu and Kashmir Police has currently arrested Kiran Patel. According to the report, Kiran Patel has done this many times before.

Now Kiran Bhai Patel’s wife Malini Patel said, “My husband is an engineer and I am a doctor. My husband had gone there (J&K) for development work as he is an engineer and nothing else. He hasn’t done anything wrong. Our lawyers there are looking into the matter. My husband will never do wrong to anyone. I do not want to speak more on this matter than this.
Hindustan Times has written in its report that when he contacted Kiran Patel, he refused to talk. Malini Patel said that you will inform our lawyer about this.

Who is Kiran Patel?
Kiran Patel is a resident of Ghodasar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Ahmedabad Crime Branch and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have also started probing the matter. Police is probing his criminal background and his contacts in Gujarat. There are three cases registered against him in different police stations of Gujarat.
Kiran Patel had claimed that he was mandated by the government to identify buyers for apple orchards in South Kashmir. He claimed that some IAS officers were in awe of him because he was dropping names of high-ranking bureaucrats and politicians in New Delhi.
Kiran Bhai Patel was on his third visit to the Kashmir Valley. Vigilant security officials arrested him on March 3.

What did Kiran Patel do in Kashmir?
Kiran Patel had visited places like Gulmarg during his last visit to Kashmir. He claimed during the visit that the government had tasked him to improve hotel facilities in the area. Officials probing the case said Kiran Patel held several meetings with top bureaucrats in the Valley, often with the promise of postings.
In his meetings with political leaders, he told them that he had been sent “on behalf of the PMO” to check the pulse of the political situation. Accompanied by security cover, Kiran Patel visited the command post on the Line of Control, Lal Chowk in Srinagar and Spice Park in South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
