As soon as the approval is received, the institution has started preparing to implement them.
The Delhi government has decided to start new courses in its medical colleges. These courses involve largely skilled professionals for nurses, pathologists, paramedics, physiotherapists and other related services. These courses include 1 Year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing, B.Sc Nursing Program, Master of Physiotherapy (Sports), B.Sc in Medical Technology-Radiotherapy, B.Sc in Medical Laboratories, Bachelor of Physiotherapy etc.
Career opportunities for students will increase
Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia has recently approved. Explaining the purpose of the new courses, Sisodia said that Covid-19 was a terrible pandemic, which forced us to think that in Delhi we need a large number of trained paramedics, nurses, physiotherapists, pathologists to deal with emergencies along with doctors. etc. is needed. He said that these courses would also enhance the career opportunities for the students in the medical sector. In this direction, these courses started in our institutes will prove to be very important in enhancing the skills of the different health professionals who are involved in the day-to-day needs of the hospitals. Manish Sisodia has also approved to upgrade Panna Dai School of Nursing to B.Sc along with new courses.
Number of seats in the courses approved by the Kejriwal government-
B.Sc Nursing Programme, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University – 40 seats.
B.Sc in Medical Laboratories, Hindu Rao Hospital – 34 seats.
One Year Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Center – 20 seats.
Master of Physiotherapy (Sports), Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Physiotherapy – 5 seats.
B.Sc (Medical Technology, Radiotherapy), Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Center – 4 seats.
