Notice to Muslim side in Gyanvapi Masjid-Shringar Gauri case, now demand for carbon dating of ‘Shivling’

Varanasi, 22 September:
The next hearing of the Gyanvapi case will be held on September 29. Varanasi Court has issued notice to the Muslim side on the petition of the Hindu side for carbon dating of ‘Shivling’. Hindu side lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that we are seeking carbon dating. Muslim side says it is a fountain, we say it is Shivling. An independent body will have to investigate and find out. We are filing an application seeking carbon dating.

Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the court has issued notice on our application for carbon dating and has sought objection from the Muslim side. The settlement will take place on 29 September. The Court rejected the time of 8 weeks (demanded by the Masjid Committee to prepare for the next hearing).
