Bhubaneswar: Odisha government’s ambitious health assurance scheme Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) has achieved a whopping growth rate of 413 per cent in the number of patients availing cashless super specialty and critical care in private sector hospitals. This came to light during an internal review meeting chaired by Dr. Brinda D., Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the State Health Assurance Society (SHAS).

Giving an update, Joint CEO Subhanand Mohapatra said that in 2021, around 1.26 lakh patients were provided cashless critical and super-specialty treatment under BSKY in various private hospitals, crossing 6.45 lakh in the year 2022, showing an increase of 413 per cent. increase has been registered. The amount providing cashless treatment by various hospitals also increased by 548 per cent.
