Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited Oli Land located at Kalinga Stadium on Thursday. Beautifully designed, Oli Land includes several fan parks with spectacular lighting, eateries for people to enjoy cuisines from across the state and plenty of activities for everyone to participate in. The Fan Park features food stalls, festivities, and fun for visitors. The area is aesthetically lit with a sense of wonder and mysticism. The Fan Park serves as a place to create unforgettable memories and celebrate hockey.
The Chief Minister was accorded a rousing welcome with hundreds of fans eager to catch a glimpse of their leader. He waved to fans and shook hands with the young audience. From taking selfies with Olly, the official mascot of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023, the spectators were having a ton of fun at Olly Land. Kalinga Stadium, Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela and Olly Land at Puri Beach have been set up to boost the Hockey World Cup excitement across the state. Admission is free from 3 pm to 10 pm on non-match days and until January 29 for ticket holders on match days.
133 students from Bhubaneswar were sent to Rourkela to experience the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium and the transformed city. The children got a unique opportunity to travel in a special charter flight to Rourkela. After the tour of the stadium, he was given a tour of the city and was shown how Rourkela had been lit up and transformed. They were taken to IG Park, Hockey Chowk and various attractive installations decorated for the World Cup. The Birsa Munda Stadium will host two matches on Friday when England will take on Wales and home team India will take on Spain.
