Odisha’s Ganjam district has provided 100 days of employment to the highest number of rural households in the country under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) in the current financial year. Kirti Vasan V, Executive Officer, Ganjam Zilla Parishad (ZP), said, “63,449 families in the district were given 100 days of employment till January 21. Thus 2.26 crore man-days of work was generated. This figure is the highest in the country. “
