Odisha is all set to host two G20 meetings on education and culture in April and May. The State Government has sent different teams for exposure visits to some of the ongoing programs in other States to help its officers get first hand experience.

Significantly, Bhubaneswar is going to organize the G20 Education Working Group meeting from 24 to 27 April. According to the minute-to-minute plan, a meeting of the G20 sub-committee on culture will be held in the city from May 14 to 17. On May 16, the delegation will visit the Sun Temple in Konark.

While there was speculation that the G20 meeting on culture could be held at Konark, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Center has reportedly decided to hold both the G20 meetings in Bhubaneswar. The state government informed that they have sent officials from various departments to places like Amritsar and Udaipur to learn about the conduct of the G20 meetings.

This exposure visit will help us organize our two events in Bhubaneswar smoothly, said a senior official of the Industries Department and the nodal agency that organized the two meetings. Official sources said Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena is scheduled to review the government’s preparedness for two meetings of the G20 subcommittee on Thursday.
