Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) hosted the Odisha Investors Meet in Kolkata. The meeting was led by a delegation comprising Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Industries Secretary Hemant Kumar Sharma. He met some of the corporate captains of Kolkata during the G2B meetings held in Kolkata today.
The Odisha Investors Meet held in Kolkata after the huge success of the MIO Conclave 2022 shows the commitment of the government towards attracting more investments from neighboring states like Bengal. Prior to the MIO Conclave, the government had organized roadshows in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and other cities. Where he saw impressive participation.
The delegates were welcomed by Pradeep Sureka, the immediate past chairman of the ICC.
The meeting, moderated by the presence of the minister as well as his bureaucrats, saw a response from at least 320 delegates from Kolkata and around 70 closed-door (G2B) meetings with clear investment intent in Odisha. A video on the industrial ecosystem of Odisha was screened for all the participating industrialists.
Hemant Sharma informed the gathering through a presentation on the Business Ecosystem of Odisha. The meeting along with ministers and government officials was also attended by industrialists who had earlier invested in Odisha and received favorable results. Three completely different industry testimonials were presented by illustrious industrialists like Ashish Anupam, Managing Director, Tata Steel Long Products Limited (TSPL), Dhananjay Sahoo, General Manager – Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Shishir Jalan, President – Indian Plastics Federation.
