Panchayat elections in Haryana before November 30, dates may be announced on October 10



Chandigarh. Panchayat elections have been stuck in Haryana for a long time, but now the flurry about it has intensified. Panchayat elections will be held in Haryana before November 30. Though earlier the deadline was September 30, the election is getting delayed due to reservation given to backward classes and fresh demarcation of wards.

Due to this delay, the Haryana State Election Commission has written a letter to the government asking for elections to be held before November 30. Panchayat elections are to be held in four phases. It is believed that on October 10, State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh can announce the schedule of Panchayat elections. The BJP has announced that it will not contest any election on the symbol except the Zilla Parishad. The final decision to contest the Zilla Parishad election on the symbol will also be taken in the BJP’s election committee meeting. On the other hand, Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Haryana BJP President Om Prakash Dhankhar are likely to discuss the Panchayat elections in Chandigarh on Friday. Also, some leaders of other parties can be got the membership of BJP.
