Prime Minister’s security lapse case: Punjab government sent report to Center, action initiated against officials
The Punjab government has sent an interim report to the central government regarding the lapse in security during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab. It has been said in the report that on the basis of the investigation report filed in the Supreme Court regarding the said matter, the Punjab government has started the process of action against 9 officials, which will be finalized after completing the formalities.
At present, the Chief Minister’s approval is being awaited for preparing the charge sheet against the responsible officers, after which the concerned officers will be given a chance to be heard and their side will be known. It may be noted that about a week ago, the Central Government had written a letter to the Chief Secretary of the Punjab Government, Vijay Kumar Janjua, asking him to give an action taken report of the action taken against the concerned officials.
