Water Resources Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair today inaugurated canal projects worth crores of rupees in Barnala district. Meanwhile, Minister Meet Hare said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is determined to run the state’s irrigation projects smoothly and farmers will not be allowed to face any difficulty.

The minister laid the foundation stone for construction of land doz pipeline and construction of pits in village Kothe Rajinder Pura. He said that this project was being constructed at a cost of Rs 43 lakh and it would provide canal water to 174 hectares of land for agriculture. By laying the network of this 2511 meter long pipeline, great facilities have been provided to these villages falling on the tail end. After this, Minister Meet Hare inaugurated the 85 lakh cost project (7.70 km lining) of Dangarh Minor near village Upali, whose capacity has been increased by 20 percent and concrete lining has been done. On this occasion, Meet Hayer said that canal water would be made available to villages like Kattu, Dangarh, Upali and Dhanaula through this project. This minor has a capacity of 7.70 to 8.43 cusecs of water, which will irrigate an area of ​​about 2800 acres.

Meet Hare today inaugurated Rs 26.91 crore renovation project of Joga distributary on Dhanaula-Badbar main road near village Harigarh, out of which 4.75 km concrete lining work has been completed. He said that the capacity of this distributary is 301.32 cusec to 327.74 cusec, due to which canal water will be made available in an area of ​​about 108000 acres.

The Water Resources Minister informed that villages like Harigarh, Atar Singh Wala, Dhanaula, Bhure, Kubbe, Aspal Kalan, Aspal Khurd, Badra, Bhaini Fatta and Dhurkot etc. in the district would be greatly benefited by this distributor.
