punjab hindi news: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the country takes pride in the fact that we have a bumper paddy crop. In Punjab, farmers cultivate paddy on 75 lakh hectares of land, although we forget that this has also increased the production of paddy straw. Usually stubble is burnt on 40 lakh hectares of land. Remaining farmers never indulge in such practices, which pollute the environment.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has set up a bio gas production plant at Sangrur and more such plants would be set up across the state.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government would leave no stone unturned to make Punjab free from the problem of stubble burning. Incidents of stubble burning will be stopped by next year. During a joint press conference with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, he said that the Punjab government is working on a multi-pronged strategy.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the state government has given 1.20 lakh machines to the farmers for the management of stubble. This is the problem of the whole of North India. The central government should intervene for its joint solution in all the affected states. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is encouraging farmers to adopt crop diversification. He also said that the central government should give remunerative MSP to the farmers for these crops. This will encourage farmers to adopt alternative crops and help solve this problem.

Chief Minister Mann said that farmers get 10-12 days time between harvesting of paddy and sowing of wheat. In the absence of any viable alternative, farmers are dependent on matchsticks to solve the problem. If the Center resolves this, then farmers will never burn paddy straw.
