punjab news: On the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day by the Health Department in Ferozepur, Punjab, an awareness program was organized in the Civil Surgeon’s office to make people aware of cancer. During this, Dr. Rajindra Pal while releasing his message said that National Cancer Awareness Day is celebrated every year to encourage awareness about diagnosis, treatment and early detection of the disease.
During this, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajindra Pal said that the National Cancer Control Program was started in 1975 for cancer facilities in India. Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases in the world. In this, extraordinary cells start developing and attack other parts of the body as well.
Apart from this, signs of cancer risk, which include heaviness in the voice, white spots in the mouth, persistent pain in the ear, difficulty in eating and drinking, bleeding in the mouth, continuous bleeding from the nose, neoplasm in the mouth, lump in the throat. Other symptoms are seen, including having nodules in the chest of women and excessive blood flow during menstruation.
He said that if a deadly disease like cancer is detected at the first stage itself, then it can be prevented from spreading in the body. He said that cancer is treated through chemotherapy, hormone therapy, hyperthermia, photodynamic therapy, radiation therapy, and stem cell transplant.
Therefore, every person should take care of his health and should keep getting his body medically examined from time to time. He said that under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund scheme, the facility of free treatment up to 1.5 lakh is provided by the state government.
Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Sushma Thakkar, District Epidimologist Dr. Shamindra Kaur, Dr. Sonia, Dr. Deepti Arora, Mass Media Officer Ranjeev, Superintendent Paramveer Monga, Steno Vikas Kalda, BCC Coordinator Rajnik Kaur and Ashish Bhandari were present on the occasion.
