Severe cold continues in Punjab. The minimum temperature has been recorded below seven degrees in 21 districts of the state. At the same time, there was neither an increase nor a fall in the maximum temperature. There was dense fog on Sunday as well. Zero visibility was recorded in Bathinda. Orange alert has been issued in the state even today. Dense fog will remain in most of the districts till afternoon. A thick layer of fog enveloped parts of Bathinda city, reducing visibility. According to the Meteorological Department, the visibility in Bathinda was recorded at 0 meters at 11.30 pm last night.

The Meteorological Department says that from Tuesday there will be a reduction in the dense fog and the day temperature will rise. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab on 11 and 12. Ropar in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of 3.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Amritsar recorded 6.6, Bathinda 3.4, Chandigarh 4.5, Jalandhar 6.3, Ludhiana 5.3, Pathankot 6.6 and Patiala 4.3 as the minimum temperature.

The Meteorological Department says that due to the activation of Western Disturbance in the mountains, the temperature of the plains will increase. This will give some relief to the people from the bitter cold. On January 13 itself, as soon as the Western Disturbance leaves, once again the outbreak of cold wave will increase. There will be a strong cold wave on 14 and 15 January.

Old man died due to cold in Faridkot
One person died due to cold on Kotkapura road. The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Tony Baba, who was living in a shanty near the religious place on Kotkapura Road for the last 11 years. After information, the police reached the spot and he was taken to the Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The investigating officer said that Jaswant Singh told that according to the doctors the old man had died of cold. 174 action has been taken in this matter.
