New Delhi, June 9There is a tough fight between Shiv Sena and BJP regarding the Rajya Sabha elections. Now the Pawar family has also taken the lead to win the Shiv Sena candidate. On his behalf, regional parties like Samajwadi Party and AIMIM are being approached for votes. It is reported that NCP has convinced SP to vote for Shiv Sena candidate. Apart from Sharad Pawar, his daughter Supriya Sule and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar were also involved in this campaign.
According to an Economic Times report, on Wednesday, the NCP was successful in getting Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi to promise his party two votes for the Shiv Sena candidate. However, Azmi had earlier said that he would not vote for Maha Vikas Aghadi in the Rajya Sabha elections as he did not honor the promises made to his party. This was followed by a meeting on Wednesday at the Chief Minister’s official residence ‘Varsha’, after which Azmi changed his decision.
According to sources, Ajit Pawar played a big role in persuading Azmi. He assured that the issues raised by the SP would be resolved soon. After this the NCP leadership spoke to Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. He assured the support of the Shiv Sena candidate. After this Akhilesh called Azmi. After the meeting, Azmi confirmed that he had a “very good” discussion with Ajit Pawar and decided that two SP votes would go for the MVA. He believes that Ajit Pawar always fulfills his promise.
According to the report, Shiv Sena was earlier with the BJP. Because of which he does not have a comfortable relationship with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). Because of this she is contacting him through NCP and Congress.
