Republic Day: 901 policemen honored with police medals, 140 got gallantry awards

On the occasion of Republic Day, 901 policemen have been awarded Police Medal. Most of the people who have been given gallantry awards, out of 140, 80 jawans are from Left Wing Extremism affected areas.

On the occasion of Republic Day, 901 policemen have been honored for their bravery. These policemen have been awarded the Police Medal. Out of this, 140 policemen have been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry. President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to 93 policemen. Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to 668 police personnel for meritorious service.

Most of the people who have been given gallantry awards, out of 140, 80 jawans are from Left Wing Extremism affected areas. There are 45 soldiers from Jammu and Kashmir who showed their bravery. Among the soldiers who have been given gallantry awards, 48 ​​soldiers are from CRPF, 31 are from Maharashtra, 25 are from Jammu and Kashmir, 9 are from Jharkhand. There are 7-7 jawans of Delhi, Chhattisgarh, BSF. The rest of the jawans are from other states, union territories and CAPFs.

55 jawans have been awarded Home Guard and Civil Defense medals. This gallantry medal is awarded for gallantry and bravery by a soldier in the Home Guard and Civil Defense. The Vishisht Seva and Civil Defense Medal is awarded by the President for meritorious service and civil defense. This medal is given to 9 personnel for meritorious service and 45 personnel for civil defence.
