New Delhi, June 6 : There is a ruckus in the Gulf countries over the controversial remarks of BJP leaders, Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal on the Prophet Mohammad of Islam. The gulf country is talking about boycotting the products of India.

Now the displeasure of Muslim countries is also coming to the fore over the alleged controversial statement of the suspended spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nupur Sharma. Kuwait, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have also expressed their displeasure over Nupur Sharma’s statement. After Qatar and Kuwait, Iran has also given its strong reaction by summoning the Indian Ambassador. However, it has been made clear by the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of BJP and Modi government that the government has nothing to do with such statements.

Oman’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Al-Khalili tweeted that the indecent remarks of the spokesperson of India’s ruling party is like a war against every Muslim. The tweet also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reportedly, many superstores in Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain are boycotting Indian products.

On Nupur Sharma’s statement, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that ‘I strongly condemn the hurtful remarks of BJP leaders of India about our beloved Prophet. Iran’s foreign ministry also summoned the Indian ambassador to Tehran. However, in the meeting the Indian Ambassador expressed regret and said that any derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad are not acceptable. The Government of India has nothing to do with such statements and comments. All religions are highly respected in India. The Indian Ambassador said that Naveen Kumar Jindal has been suspended from the party after making such remarks. Along with this, he is not holding any post in the government.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif said that under Modi’s leadership India is trampling on religious freedom and Muslims are being persecuted. He said that the world should pay attention to this. Our love for the Holy Prophet is supreme. All Muslims can sacrifice their lives for the love and respect of their Holy Prophet. Kuwait has also issued a statement condemning such comments. Along with this, Kuwait also handed over an official note to Ambassador Sibi George over the comments of the leaders of the ruling party in India. In response, the Indian Embassy spokesperson in Kuwait issued a statement saying that the Indian Ambassador told the Kuwait Foreign Office that the controversial remarks did not reflect the views of the Indian government.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar summoned the Indian Ambassador. handed him an official note. It said that we condemn the comments of BJP leaders regarding Prophet Mohammad. Qatar said such statements would not be tolerated. Along with this said that more than two billion Muslims worldwide follow the path shown by Prophet Mohammad. Such comments will encourage religious hatred. In response to the statement issued by the Qatar Foreign Ministry, the spokesperson of the Indian Embassy in Qatar said that the Indian Ambassador had a meeting at the Foreign Office. In this, concern was expressed about controversial statements and tweets. Along with this said that such tweets do not reflect the views of the Government of India.
