A railway guard posted at Railway Station Sagar was caught in Surat, Gujarat with about one kg of gold and Rs 63.88 lakh. He is suspected to be involved in gold smuggling or tax evasion including stock market or MCX business. Here, after getting information from Surat, Railway Division DRM Jabalpur has suspended him. On the other hand, in view of the Gujarat elections, the Election Commission and the Income Tax Department are also questioning the guard and his accomplice in this matter.

Sudhir Sengar, a railway guard posted under Sagar railway station of MP, who lives in Razakhedi Makronia, was caught carrying a bag in suspicious condition at a checkpost in Surat a few days ago. One of his accomplices Rajnesh Pal was also caught carrying the bag. In view of the elections in Gujarat, special checking was going on at Neyol checkpost, during which Sudhir Sengar and Rajnesh Pal were trying to cross the checkpost on foot with school bags on their shoulders. Meanwhile, the police got some doubt and after stopping both the bags were searched, then bundles of 2000 and 500 notes came out in one bag. There was a total of 63 lakh 88 thousand 700 rupees in it, then 15 gold biscuits weighing 1 kg were found in the second bag. The cost of gold has been mentioned as Rs 52.50 lakh. Including both, about 1 crore 17 lakh rupees had come out to them.

According to the information received from the Railways, Surat Police had sent information to Sagar Railway Station and Jabalpur Division, in which information was given about Sudhir and his accomplice being caught with gold and cash, registration of case and questioning. Sudhir has been suspended by the DRM of Jabalpur division after getting information about both being in the custody of Gujarat Police.

Police, Election Commission and Income Tax Department are inquiring
According to railway sources, Sudhir and his accomplice are being interrogated by the Surat Police as well as the Election Commission in view of the elections. The special team of Surat’s local election has interrogated him at length. However, no information related to the election could be found from the side of the accused. After this, the team of Income Tax Department is inquiring in the matter of money and gold.
