New Delhi, June 3: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the country also feels that the Corona lockdown has hit a lot. Because, in the financial year 2020-21, there has been a huge decline in both its income and expenditure. This details of the annual audit report was submitted by the party to the Election Commission on 21st last month, which was published on Friday. According to this, the income of the party has decreased by about 80 percent in the second financial year as compared to one financial year.

Corona hit on BJP’s earnings!
According to the annual audit report submitted by the BJP to the Election Commission on May 21 for the financial year 2020-21, the party’s income has come down by about 80%. According to the details given by the party to the commission, its total expenditure during this period stood at Rs 620.39 crore, while it earned a total income of Rs 752.33 crore. But, in the previous financial year (2019-20), the party had earned Rs 3,623.28 crore and the expenditure was Rs 1,651 crore. This report was published by the Election Commission last Friday.

Earnings decreased by about 80%
As far as earning through Electoral Bonds is concerned, till March 31, 2021, the party had received only Rs 22.38 crore from it. Whereas, a year ago i.e. till March 31, 2020, it had earned Rs 2,555 crore from the same electrical bond. In 2020-21, the party has shown an expenditure of more than Rs 421 crore in the head ‘Election/General Campaign’. Whereas, in the previous financial year, the party’s expenditure in this head was Rs 1,352 crore.

The expenses incurred in this head are mainly spent on publicity, helicopter and airplane rentals, hoardings and cut outs, giving financial assistance to the candidates and so on. Obviously, the financial year in which more expenditure has been shown in this head is the year of Lok Sabha elections and when there has been a sharp decline in income and expenses, it is the financial year of corona lockdown.
