Shock to Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh from PMLA court, not allowed to vote in Rajya Sabha elections

Mumbai, June 09: Rajya Sabha elections are to be held in Maharashtra along with other states of the country on Friday, June 9. Two former state ministers, Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh, who are in jail in the money laundering case, had appealed in the special court to get temporary bail to cast their votes in the elections. Hearing the matter on Thursday, the special PMLA court rejected the applications of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik and former state minister Anil Deshmukh to allow them to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections tomorrow.
Following which the lawyer of former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh has sought a certified copy of the order at the earliest so that he can approach the High Court today.
