New Delhi, 13 September. DMK Deputy General Secretary and MP A Raja has created a new controversy with one of his statements. He directly accused the BJP of inciting anger and spreading hatred for one community. Targeting Hinduism, the DMK MP said that you are a Shudra only as long as you are a Hindu.
DMK Deputy General Secretary and Nilgiri MP claimed that Shudras were insulted in Manusmriti. They were denied equality, education, employment and the right to enter temples.
Addressing a meeting of the Dravida Kazhagam on Tuesday, MP A Raja said, “You are a Shudra as long as you are a Hindu. You are the son of a prostitute as long as you live as a Shudra. Panchaman till you remain a Hindu.” That is, you are a Dalit and till then you are an untouchable.”
The former Union minister claimed that the Supreme Court had ruled that if someone is not a Christian, a Muslim or a Persian, he must be a Hindu. “Is there any other country that is facing such cruelty?”
On these statements of A Raja, BJP Mahila Morcha National President Vanathi Srinivasan said that they have done this earlier also. A. Raja insulted women and Hindus on several occasions.
Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai called it a regrettable situation in politics. He wrote in the tweet, “@arivalayam MP has once again spread hatred against a community whose sole aim is to please others. This is the unfortunate mentality of these leaders who consider themselves the masters of Tamil Nadu.”
