Suniel Shetty on Mehul Choksi’s notice on ‘File No. 323’, ‘defames him, it’s funny…’

‘Trying to discredit, it’s ridiculous’

Suniel Shetty in a recent interview said that it is ridiculous to say that there is an attempt to defame him (Mehul Choksi) when the director and producer of the film were ‘making it from whatever is available in the public domain’ . He further said that I liked the answer my producer gave – you are the one who has spoiled your name. It’s an interesting story for a film for us.

Talking to Pinkvilla, actor Suniel Shetty said, “I am playing the role of an auditor of a big chartered accountant firm who probably knows more about financials than anyone. A notice has come from Mehul Choksi. And I don’t know where it came from. The director and producer are making something out of whatever’s available in the public domain, so the whole thing about their infamy is kind of fun.”

'It's a bold subject'

Talking further about the film, Sunil said, “It is about what the government of that time was doing. What were the banks, institutions and chiefs thinking when they lent that kind of money to absconders?” It is about a lot of people and it is a bold subject. According to a recent report in ETimes, Mehul Choksi had issued a cease and desist notice to the makers and director of File No. 323.

'He himself has tarnished his image'
