Hyderabad, Nov 24- 2020 Following a decline in poultry and egg production during the pandemic along with other factors, Chevella MP G Ranjith Reddy urged the Center to provide subsidy to poultry farmers at par with agricultural farmers . Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day ’14th Poultry India 2022 Expo’ organized at Hitex, Madhapur here on Wednesday, he argued that it is possible only through the poultry industry to address nutritional deficiencies including protein deficiency in the country.
The MP pointed out that Telangana has introduced boiled eggs in mid-day meals in state-run schools and anganwadi centers and hoped that the north Indian states would follow suit. He said that the poultry sector has played a major role. In the development of agro-allied sectors by providing livelihood to rural households. In the exhibition, companies dependent on the poultry industry displayed their various products such as equipment used in poultry farms and hatcheries, medicines, nutritional products and herbal feed supplements for poultry birds, toxin binders and many more. There were also companies who showcased their poultry management systems for ease of running poultry business using software technologies. The first day of the exhibition witnessed huge rush.
