Telangana: Eye check-up of 1.50 crore people in the second phase of Kanti Velugu

HYDERABAD: Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivasa Yadav said that the second phase of Kanti Velugu would be launched in Greater Hyderabad limits from January 18 to June 30, where massive eye check-up camps would be organized across the city. He called upon the people including public representatives to make Kanti Velugu a grand success and get it included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Srinivas Yadav along with Home Minister Mehmood Ali, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, MLAs, MLCs and other elected representatives held a district level review meeting on the arrangements for Kanti Velugu-2 program at GHMC headquarter. He said that this time 1.50 crore people would be screened and glasses would be provided to 55 lakh people.
Minister Srinivas directed the GHMC officials to hold meetings with councillors, colonies, township committees and other public representatives and officials in their jurisdiction. The state government has earmarked Rs 250 crore for mass eye check-up camps at 1,500 locations across the state. In GHMC limits, 115 camps will be organized in 91 wards.
