Telangana has put a hold on the draft Kamareddy master plan. This information has been given by the Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday.

State Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Arvind Kumar on Friday said the draft master plan of Kamareddy municipality will be put on the backburner and a proposal to merge surrounding villages with the municipality will be reconsidered. A new one will be prepared.
“Had a detailed review with @CollectorKMR about the draft master plan today. Need to engage with farmers and landowners, erstwhile GP now merged with Kamareddy and draft plan shelved indefinitely Until the process is completed through consensus @KTRTRS’ Arvind Kumar tweeted.
Officials said Arvind Kumar reviewed the draft master plan at the Integrated District Office Complex (IDOC) in Kamareddy. Collector Jitesh V Patil, Additional Collector Venkatesh Dotre, Kamareddy Municipal Commissioner Devendra were present in the meeting.
Arvind Kumar examined the existing master and draft plans. He said the current draft plan would be put on the backburner. The senior bureaucrat clarified that the government has no plans to acquire agricultural land in the name of master plan and inconvenience farmers.
