Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government. Harish Rao termed as false the Centre’s claim that there was no proposal from the Telangana government to seek national status for the Kaleshwaram project.
Harish Rao also showed the letters on Friday, which Chief Minister K.K. Chandrashekhar wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government wrote to the Ministry of Water Resources. In these letters, national status was sought for the Kaleshwaram project.
The strong response from the Telangana government came after Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Bishweshwar Tudu told the Lok Sabha that the Telangana government had not made any proposal to the Center to include the Kaleshwaram or Palamuru Rangareddy projects in the National Project Plan. The Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti was replying to a question by Mahbubnagar MP Manne Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday.
Taking strong objection to the Union minister’s reply, Harish Rao termed it as “false propaganda”. Harish Rao wrote a post on Twitter to share the status of the approval report of the Kaleshwaram project and said that the Union Minister has lied on the floor of the House and also misled the people.
