Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao formally launched the DDN project on Tuesday. It may be noted that commercial and residential structures in Narayanpet, Telangana are being assigned with Digital Door Numbers (DDN).

Explaining the importance of the DDN project, Project Advisor Major Shiv Kiran said that DDN helps the Urban Local Bodies in proper valuation of structures and generate revenue. Significantly, field level data collection, grid maps and latitude and longitude coordinates of structures are prepared using GIS.

Let us tell you that this will be a unique DDN and it cannot be duplicated. Major Kiran said that Narayanpet had about 9100 assessments covering about 10 square kilometres. Also there was a provision to extend the coverage to 100 sq kms for future requirements. It is also worth noting here that the DDN project will be completed in a month.
