Telangana’s good performance in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 continues with seven more urban local bodies receiving awards under the “Fast Moving Cities” section. With these awards, Telangana’s total tally in the Swachh Survekshan 2022 rankings has increased to 23 and three more awards under the Indian Sanitation League (ISL). Telangana is now second in the country after Maharashtra in terms of total number of wards covered in Swachh Survekshan 2022.
Swachh Survekshan 2022: GWMC ranks third among ‘fast moving cities’
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs announced the Fast Moving Cities Awards in various categories on 21 November, in which Telangana won seven more awards.
The local bodies have been ranked for their fast pace in achieving Swachh Survekshan parameters including ODF ranking and others under the Fast Moving Cities initiative. Accordingly, Warangal (Urban) ranks third among Fast Moving Medium Cities with population between three and 10 lakh.
