The year 2022 has proved to be a landmark year in the health sector for Telangana as the state has been cemented among the top performing states in the country. The Annual Health Care Report 2022, released for the first time in Telangana on Sunday, pointed out that the state has witnessed major developments on several fronts in the public health sector, resulting in improvement in key health care indices such as maternal and infant mortality rates.

Telangana ranks third in the country in the NITI Aayog’s ranking in terms of providing quality health care services. The report states that several health care indicators such as maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate, medical infrastructure, measures to control unnecessary C-sections, recruitment of qualified people in all health departments have seen a huge increase in 2022.

Unpleasant incidents have happened in government hospitals in Telangana and there is no denying it. All we have done is to learn from them and ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.
