Shimla, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Garib Kalyan Program organized in Shimla on Tuesday. During this, he released 21 thousand crore rupees to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme.

The program was organized at Ridge Maidan in Shimla. The road leading to the ground was packed with spectators to catch a glimpse of PM Modi. In the midst of the crowd, a girl named Anu was standing holding a picture of PM Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi.
PM asked, how many days did it take to make the painting?
On seeing the picture, PM Modi stopped his convoy. Got out of the car and went to meet the girl. PM Modi asked the girl her name? where do you live How many days did it take you to make this painting? The girl told the Prime Minister that she hails from Shimla and that she painted in a day. The girl said that she herself had made a picture of the PM which has been sent to her through the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

PM Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of various government schemes during the programme. PM Modi sought feedback from public representatives across the country regarding various welfare programs being run by the government. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the effort of the conference is to make the access and delivery of government programs more efficient so as to make the lives of the citizens of the country easier.
