Hyderabad: Telangana’s Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao said that the standards of education in Telangana have improved significantly following various measures taken by the state government. Informing that Rs 18,000 crore has been released for fee reimbursement, KTR said that more than 700 Gurukulam schools have been set up across the state to provide quality education to poor students. Rs 1.20 lakh per year is being spent on each student.
KTR was speaking after laying the foundation stone of a primary school at Kodurupa in Boinpally mandal on Tuesday. KTR is building the school in the memory of his grandparents Joginipalli Keshavrao and Lakshmibai by spending Rs 2 crore at his personal expense. Speaking on the occasion, KTR pointed out that more poor students got the opportunity to pursue MBBS as medical colleges were established in all 33 districts under the able leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
To improve the facilities in the government schools, the state government had started the Mana Oru Mana Bari program on a large scale. Under the programme, 26,000 schools will be developed in three phases by spending Rs 7,300 crore.
