New Delhi, 19 June. Amidst the opposition to the army’s new recruitment plan Agneepath, the Defense Ministry has made it clear that the central government is not going to back down from its decision. Recruitment will be done in the army under the Agneepath scheme. In a statement issued by the Defense Ministry, it has been said that there is no question of going back from the decision taken regarding army recruitment.

In the midst of violent protests across the country regarding the ‘Agneepath’ army recruitment scheme, the Defense Ministry has made it clear that the central government is not going to back down from its decision. The ministry said ‘agnivars’ in areas like Siachen and other areas will get the same allowance as is applicable to the regular soldiers currently serving and get a compensation of Rs. 1 crore will also be given on the martyrdom of the soldiers. But only from Agneepath scheme there will be recruitment in Indian Army.

High officials of the army said this
The situation has already been clarified regarding the recruitment under the Agneepath scheme. Army Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi has said that from November 21 this year the first batch of the first naval Agniveer will start arriving at the Chilka Training Center in Odisha. There is a system of training for both men and women category of firefighters. On the other hand, Lieutenant General Bansi Ponnappa said that by the first week of December, the army will get the first batch of 25 thousand ‘Agnivar’. While the second batch will be inducted around February 2023. After this, there will be a total of 40,000 Agniveers. Air Marshal SK Jha said that from June 24 the Agniveer batch number 1 registration process and from July 24 the phase 1 online examination process will begin. The first batch will be enrolled by December and the training will start by December 30.
